The Thinking Trap...

Oh...Those days when I just can't seem to get my thoughts to focus on positive thoughts. I have days where my thoughts just want to stay on all the negative and worrying things...Until I grab on to my strength and force it to think in the positive light!

Hello Loves!

I've learned over the years that the mind tends to focus on negative thoughts so much more than it does on positive thoughts. If we aren't careful, we can get stuck in what I like to call "The Thinking Trap" That's when the mind goes into a rant full of negative or worrying thoughts and gets stuck; no matter what you do, it stays there! For me, The Thinking Trap tends to lead to depression and sadness. I don't like to get that way and I don't want you to either. So I wanted to share a little on what I do to combat it. First, when I feel my mind slipping into negative thoughts, I immediately think of something that makes me laugh. My favorite comedian is Steve Harvey so I force my mind to think of his funniest moments. I think of it like this...if I am laughing, then I don't have the time to think of things that make me sad :). Next, I begin to think of my favorite song, Earth Wind and Fire, September. That song gets me going lol. Usually, those things gets my mind focused on the positive and happy moments in my life. I also stay in prayer :). Praying is Always a great idea. So my friend, I encourage you to do the same. Don't get caught up in the Thinking Trap...Instead, intercept it quickly before your mind goes there. Remember, YOU have the power and the strength already inside of you. God planted it in you when He created you. Use it to your advantage :)
